Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking an Engineer to maintain the hotel’s mechanical and electrical systems, FF&E, and grounds. The role requires performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, and related equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment around the clock.

The technician will also manage pool maintenance, building exterior upkeep, and assist other engineering staff while following all safety and security rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance trades including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
• Must recognize potential safety hazards and security problems and act accordingly.
• Comply with hotel policies including appearance, safety and emergency procedures.
• Skilled in HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing and landscaping.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical/electrical malfunctions in hotel systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing) across the hotel.
• Performs preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis (e.g., room care).
• Maintains pool area including chemicals and filters, and logs maintenance requests.
• Maintains exterior and curb appeal (lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Adheres to all company policies and safety procedures.
• Reports unsafe conditions, accidents or damage to supervisor.
• Supports other Engineering staff as needed and assists with related duties.
