Job summary

Ascent Hospitality in Birmingham, AL seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to direct all housekeeping operations, including laundry, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet standards of cleanliness and quality. The role involves scheduling, training, performance coaching, inventory control, and collaborating with Front Office and Maintenance to deliver outstanding guest service and profitability.

Prior supervisory hotel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in Supervisor or Manager role.
• Previous experience in a hotel preferred.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must have basic mathematical skills.
• Must be able to apply basic principles and techniques of supervision.
• Ability to plan and organize the activities of others.
• Ability to get ideas accepted and to guide a group or individual to accomplish a task.
• Ability to modify leadership style and management approach to reach goal.
• Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
• Ability to effectively handle conflict in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise housekeeping operations, including laundry.
• Lead scheduling, training, and development of team members.
• Ensure cleanliness and quality standards for guest rooms and public areas.
• Collaborate with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory and ensure proper storage of supplies.
• Maintain safety and sanitation practices in accordance with regulations.
