Job summary

MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL is seeking a Telephone Operator to handle incoming and outgoing calls, directory assistance, and interfacility communications. The role requires a fast, accurate typing test and a customer-service mindset in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Shifts include 7A-4:30P, 5P-1:30A, and 11:30P-6A; PRN as needed with 8 hours per pay period. Experience with alert systems and on-call processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typing test – 30 words per minute minimum.
• 1–3 years of job-related experience preferred.
• Customer service experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, helpful first impression for visitors and callers.
• Process incoming and outgoing calls, interfacility calls, and directory assistance.
• Relay on-call information and emergency notifications accurately.
• Monitor and document emergency responses and regulatory logs.
• Page through audio, wireless messaging or radio communications as needed.
