Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Telephone Operator in our telecommunications department. The role supports hospital communications, answers inbound calls, directs them to the proper department, and aids callers dialing out.

Tasks include emergency signal response, paging, and basic pager exchanges. The successful candidate will monitor security and alarm systems, assist with phone repairs, and maintain logs while supporting the on-duty telecom team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming/internal calls on the AMCOM/Alcatel system and direct to proper department.
• Assist callers dialing out and respond to emergency signals from the panel.
• Monitor cameras and notify Public Safety when needed.
• Page hospital staff for emergencies and handle pagers; troubleshoot and exchange equipment as needed.
• Log issues with the Telecom analyst and maintain staff schedules; arrive on time for shifts.
