Job summary

Abrazo Community Health Network seeks a switchboard operator to manage calls and relay messages with a courteous, clear voice. You will handle the main switchboard, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with departments to ensure accurate contact information.

The role focuses on professional communication, quick problem-solving, and adherence to etiquette while maintaining patient privacy and service quality.

Qualifications

• Must possess good interpersonal skills.
• Must exude excellent communication skills including proper phone etiquette.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergencies and work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operates the PBX, answering incoming and in-house calls.
• Responds to all emergency codes quickly and calmly with appropriate paging.
• Contacts patients for address updates as directed by Supervisor.
• Reviews updates in the communication book and initial memos.
• Maintains security by inventorying contents of the safe at shift start with a guard present.
• Assigns loaner beepers and programs new beepers.
• Ensures courteous and professional dialogue with all customers.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
