Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a switchboard operator to promptly receive calls, screen and direct traffic, and monitor alarm signals. You will dispatch appropriate emergency responses, provide on-call coverage, and ensure compliance with patient information guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong keyboarding and record-keeping skills, multitasking ability, and excellent communication.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED.
• Accurate keyboard & records maintenance skills.
• Multitasks & timely response abilities.
• Two years’ phone and office experience, preferably in a hospital or similar setting.
• Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills as first point of contact for caller.
• Ability to work in high stress environment and make proper decisions in pressure situations.
• Must work independently and demonstrate critical thinking for emergency calls.

Responsabilidades

• Promptly responds and screens calls, directing traffic to appropriate area.
• Monitors light and sound alarm signals and dispatches appropriate responses.
• Provides on-call services as requested.
• Complies with visiting restrictions within patient information guidelines.
• Promotes a safe environment in line with BVHS standards.
• Attends educational activities, in-services, and process improvement initiatives.
• Turns in departmental documentation within established time frames.
