Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Hospice Care Consultant to grow market share by building strong relationships with healthcare providers and expanding admissions. You will identify eligible patients, navigate sensitive conversations, and meet or exceed monthly admissions and revenue goals.

The role requires resilience, empathy, and the ability to manage multiple accounts with professional care for patients and families in emotional situations. Occasional after-hours work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business strongly preferred.
• Five (5) plus years of successful sales experience in relevant roles.
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals with ability to grow new accounts.
• Excellent customer relationship management skills that drive growth in long-standing accounts.
• Experience in Hospice, Home Health, or Healthcare industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive significant growth within the assigned book of business by opening new accounts and expanding existing accounts.
• Secure referrals from physicians, staff, and administrators and partner with the operations team to ensure all clinically-eligible patients are rapidly admitted.
• Take full ownership of meeting or exceeding weekly performance goals.
• Cultivate and manage strong relationships with referral sources using a consultative sales approach.
• Show compassion and empathy to patients and families; maintain resilience in emotional hospice contexts.
• Prioritize the patient and be willing to work evenings and weekends for timely support.
• Seek feedback from referral sources and relay insights to the operations team for improvement.
• Demonstrate adaptability to changing priorities and team structures.
• Provide clinical training and education to referral partners.
