Job summary

DFW Home Health, part of the Optum family and LHC Group, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education under a supervisingPT. The role emphasizes safe, effective home-based therapy aligned to the plan of care.

The successful candidate will perform activities in diverse home settings, collaborate with nurses and physicians, and contribute to a compassionate care team focused on improving patient well‑being.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state-specific laws governing home care PT; work under the supervising Physical Therapist and suggest changes to the plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy within the PT scope.
• Function in varied home environments, respecting all patients regardless of background.
