Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Patient Care division is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education within a home health setting. The role requires adherence to the plan of care and coordination with supervising professionals to enhance patient well-being.

Responsibilities include following state PT regulations, guiding patients through active and passive therapy, documenting responses, and educating patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home PT practice and implement plan of care under supervising PT.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy and home exercises.
• Function in diverse home settings while respecting patient dignity and safety.
