Job summary

Elite Home Health, part of LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to implement treatment plans, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients to improve well-being under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and work under the supervising PT’s plan of care.
• Instruct and assist patients in active and passive exercise, gait, and ADL training.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate care with the health care team.
• Instruct patients, family, and caregivers in therapy within the PTA scope.
• Function in home settings accommodating diverse patient needs.
