Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Roadway Maintenance Technicians to join our outdoor operations team. This hands-on role involves maintaining highways, signage, guardrails, and drainage while responding to emergencies and weather events.

The position requires comfort with outdoor work year-round, operating equipment, and following MOT safety guidelines. CDL A/B and related certifications are a plus, with on-call shifts and potential night/weekend work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work safely in high-traffic environments.
• Pre-employment background screening, MVR review, and drug testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and emergency response on active highways.
• Install, repair, and replace guardrails, signs, delineators, and other roadway safety devices.
• Repair potholes and pavement damage using asphalt and concrete materials.
• Clean ditches, culverts, and drainage systems to prevent flooding.
• Remove damaged roadway infrastructure after vehicle impacts.
• Mow and manage vegetation; clear brush; maintain highway rights-of-way.
• Set up traffic control devices, cones, signs, and lane closures to protect work zones.
• Respond to vehicle accidents, severe weather, and other roadway emergencies.
• Assist with snow and ice removal operations including plowing and salting.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment; perform basic vehicle maintenance.
• Document work using smartphones and company apps.
