Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Roadway Maintenance Technicians to join our outdoor maintenance team.

This hands-on role involves working on active highways, operating equipment, and contributing to public safety through proactive roadway care. You will perform debris removal, guardrail and sign maintenance, pothole repair, drainage work, vegetation management, and traffic control in live traffic environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license or acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work safely in high-traffic environments.
• Adaptability to changing schedules and project needs.
• Pass pre-employment background screening, MVR, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• PICKING UP debris, litter, and roadway hazards to improve driver safety.
• Installing, repairing, and replacing guardrail, signs, and safety devices.
• Repairing potholes and pavement using asphalt and concrete.
• Cleaning ditches, culverts, and drainage systems to prevent flooding.
• Mowing, vegetation management, and maintaining highway rights-of-way.
• Setting up traffic control devices and lane closures in work zones.
• Responding to roadway emergencies and weather-related events.
• Loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.
• Performing inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
