Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage systems. The role requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain within six months and at least five years of consulting experience in HV power design.

You will design HV distribution for renewables, prepare construction packages up to 200 kV, and support field teams with QA/QC, studies, and coordination across offices.

Qualifications

• Requires PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years in consulting with a focus on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and construction administration for power projects.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for complex electrical systems from 15kV to 200kV.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV collection systems, substations, and transmission equipment up to 200kV.
• Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, relay coordination, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with colleagues across offices.
• Lead project management tasks including client meetings, system design coordination, equipment selection, and shop drawing review.
• Mentor engineering and design personnel within Power Market team.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and field reviews.
