Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage power design. You will design HV distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects, and prepare complete construction packages up to 200 kV.

Applicants should have a BS in Electrical Engineering and a PE license or the ability to obtain it within six months, with at least five years in consulting HV design. Travel for client meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience in medium- and high-voltage power design.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications for 15kV–200kV projects.
• Conduct electrical studies: short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, relay coordination.
• Provide QA/QC reviews ensuring adherence to standards.
• Support field crews for HV collection systems up to 200kV and field issues.
• Manage client meetings, design coordination, and shop drawing reviews.
• Mentor team members within the Power Market group.
