Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer focused on medium/high voltage for renewable energy projects. This role requires PE licensure or eligibility within six months and involves design, calculations, and construction packages for 15kV–200kV systems.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices, perform HV studies, provide field support, and mentor junior staff while traveling as needed in Kentucky and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting focusing on medium/high-voltage power systems.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specs, submittal reviews, and construction administration.
• Graduate degree or professional registrations preferred.
• General Contractor License a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for 15kV to 200kV equipment.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV systems up to 200kV.
• Perform electrical studies including short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Collaborate with civil/structural engineers and coordinate across offices.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and site reviews.
• Mentor engineering and design personnel; support project management tasks.
