Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a licensed or soon-to-be-licensed Electrical Engineer (Medium/High Voltage) to support renewable energy projects in the Houston area.

The role focuses on HV power design, substation layouts, and coordination with civil and structural teams. You will prepare construction packages up to 200 kV, perform electrical studies, and mentor staff while engaging with clients and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering is required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months is required or preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of consulting experience in medium- and high-voltage power system design.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable projects.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and full construction packages up to 200 kV.
• Perform electrical studies, including short-circuit, arc flash, and load flow analyses.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and support field personnel with HV equipment.
• Collaborate with civil/structural teams and coordinate across offices.
• Participate in project management and client meetings; mentor staff.
• Travel occasionally for meetings and field reviews.
