Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Odessa, TX is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to lead small-group CSI instruction for students with 2+ year gaps in Reading and/or Math, aiming to close those gaps within a single school year. You will coordinate with general education teachers to provide targeted intervention and monitor progress.

This grant-funded position (Prentice Farrar Brown) has no long-term employment guarantee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• K-12 classroom teaching experience strongly preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction to small groups (3rd-8th) at risk in reading and/or math.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate intervention support.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track progress with formal and informal assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Host necessary tutoring sessions after school or on weekends.
