Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Florida is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students who have significant gaps in Reading and/or Math, with the goal of closing those gaps by the end of the school year. The role emphasizes systematic screening, Direct Instruction, frequent progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction within IDEA’s rigorous AP for All framework.

Qualifications

• High level content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Holding or willing to pursue a Florida educator certification required (IDEA cert program available).

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI small groups of students at risk in reading and/or math to close gaps.
• Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate support.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement assessments and track each student’s progress; update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
