Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students who are behind in reading and/or math, aiming to close the gaps by year-end using Direct Instruction and progress monitoring.

You will implement district-approved interventions, collaborate with general educators, and lead tutoring as needed to support diverse learners in 3rd–8th grade (and Kinder-2nd or 9th–12th as campus requires). Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA evidenced by certification or relevant experience.
• Experience in K-12 classroom settings preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach intervention to small groups across grade levels (3rd-8th, Kinder-2nd, 9th-12th as campus requires).
• Coordinate with general education teachers to align support.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track progress with formal and informal assessments and adjust plans accordingly.
• Communicate student progress weekly to families.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
• Participate in weekly meetings and school-wide activities.
• Spend 40+ hours per week on site.
