Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students in reading and math who are behind by two or more years, aiming to close the gap within one school year. This grant-funded position uses universal screening and explicit instruction to accelerate progress.

The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff, data-driven planning, and weekly communication with families.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction for small groups in 3rd-8th grade who are academically at risk in reading and/or math.
• Teach district approved intervention to Kinder-2nd grade (dependent on campus assignment) at risk in reading and/or math.
• Teach district approved intervention to 9th-12th grade (dependent on campus assignment) at risk to graduate.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support students requiring intervention.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress with assessments and communicate progress weekly to families.
