Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups in reading and math, addressing 2+ year gaps. The role supports IDEA’s AP for All and uses universal screening, direct instruction, and progress monitoring.

The position is grant-funded, with potential extension, and requires collaboration with general education staff. Includes compensation enhancements and family-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction for small groups in 3rd-8th grade to close gaps in reading/math.
• Teach for Kinder-2nd grade as assigned (reading/math) to at-risk students.
• Teach 9th-12th grade groups as assigned to support graduation goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate support.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress with assessments and adjust plans accordingly.
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology to support learning and communication.
• Implement a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a positive school-wide culture and strong community.
• Build trusted relationships with students and families.
• Support after-school tutoring and attend weekly meetings.
