Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in North Carolina to build and maintain relationships with local contractors and builders. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage each job from sale to completion, and visit job sites as needed to ensure satisfaction.

The role emphasizes prospecting, estimating, quotes, and ongoing communication to grow the customer base.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales
• Knowledge of home building basics
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists
• Ability to work independently
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials and installed services to local contractors
• Manage sold projects and maintain client relationships
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules
• Track customer product use and trends
• Provide material takeoffs and quotes
• Maintain strong communication and follow-through with customers
