Job summary

Benihana is seeking a kitchen professional to engage and entertain guests while preparing hibachi meals. You will cook in front of guests, ensure correct portions, and keep the hibachi area clean and sanitized. You will also educate guests on menu items and respond to requests with courtesy and speed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of the Benihana chef training program; prior chef experience is preferred. Training and career growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous chef or cook experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within 15 minutes of teppan order.
• Perform a cooking show for assigned tables.
• Provide information about Benihana foods as guests are cooked.
• Respond promptly to guest requests.
• Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow instructions.
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking.
• Open/close duties: clean refrigeration units, gaskets, carts and floors.
• Maintain clean teppan areas and follow safety standards.
• Follow portioning, recipes, and quality standards.
• Handle, label, rotate foods; follow FIFO.
• Use knives and tools to portion and prep foods.
• Adhere to alcoholic beverage service guidelines.
• Present a clean appearance and courteous manner.
• Notify MOD of guest dissatisfaction or incidents.
• Assist with special occasions; may be photographed with guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
