Job summary

Benihana is seeking a front-of-house hibachi chef to engage guests, perform entertaining cooking shows, and ensure safe, high-quality food preparation. You will work up-close with guests at the hibachi table, delivering a memorable dining experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of Benihana’s chef training program; prior chef or cook experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order(s).
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction is appropriate and courteous.
• Reads guests’ inquiries and provides information about Benihana foods as they are cooked.
• Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Asks guests for cooking preferences and follows instructions.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other items for cooking.
