Job summary

Benihana is seeking a hibachi chef to entertain and delight guests while cooking and preparing hot meals at the hibachi tables. You will ensure correct portions and maintain clean dining and cooking areas, delivering a memorable dining experience with high energy and hospitality.

The role requires completing Benihana’s chef training program and prior chef experience is highly desirable. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities and opportunities for dining benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order(s).
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous.
• Reads and shares information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries.
• Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests and follows guest instructions.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and other items for cooking using kitchen equipment.
• Maintains kitchen and teppan areas clean and sanitary; reports maintenance issues.
• Adheres to portion standards, recipes and presentation guidelines.
