Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Technical Communications Coordinator to provide expert technical support to technicians and staff.

The role develops and delivers training programs, troubleshoots complex equipment issues, and serves as the liaison between the dealership and equipment manufacturers to ensure technicians have the necessary knowledge. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of all equipment models, perform root cause analyses, and disseminate technical bulletins and manuals

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 5 years in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, or technical support.
• 2 years in a training or technical communicator role.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications.
• Ability to travel to various sites, including field locations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced technical assistance for new, used, rental fleet, and customer-owned equipment to technicians regarding heavy equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
• Develops and delivers technical training programs for staff and customers.
• Serves as the primary contact for resolving complex technical issues in the field or shop.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all equipment models and technologies sold by the dealership.
• Performs root cause failure analysis when needed and assists in warranty information.
• Assists in educating to enhance the technical proficiency of the service team.
• Acts as a liaison between the dealership and equipment manufacturers for accurate communication of technical information.
• Disseminates technical bulletins, service manuals, and other technical documents.
• Supports field technicians with over-the-phone and on-site technical guidance.
• Maintains detailed records of technical issues, solutions, and training guidance.
• Documents recurring issues to manufacturers to aid product improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned and ensures reliable on-site attendance.
