Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to perform safe operation of multiple heavy machines and support site preparation and waste handling. The role requires attention to safety, ability to train on additional landfill equipment, and responsiveness to daily operational needs.

Experience in operating heavy equipment and conducting inspections is essential, with flexibility to engage in on-site hazardous waste handling in Boyd County as needed.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate proficiency operating heavy equipment.
• Must complete training on landfill equipment as needed.
• Reliable self-starter with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, fueling, cleaning).
• Move waste and operate on-site roll-off tasks and yard tractors.
• Adhere to hazardous waste handling procedures (Boyd County) as required.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
