Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of equipment used to move and load waste and recyclables at our Cincinnati area site. You will perform inspections, basic maintenance, and assist with site preparation and earth moving tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment, passes required tests, and completes hazardous waste training within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck or similar
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment
• Hazardous waste management training within six months of employment and annual refresher
• Pre-employment testing is required

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently per regulations and company policy
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning
• Support site preparation, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks
• Monitor equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety around personnel
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers
• Assist with on-site roll-off operations and yard tractor duties
• Comply with safety training and read English safety instructions
