Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of heavy equipment and perform earth-moving tasks at our Ohio facilities. The role requires experience with operating heavy machinery, good communication, and the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient on heavy equipment and able to operate various equipment safely.
• Ability to read and speak English well enough to communicate and follow safety training.
• Must possess good communication skills and be able to communicate professionally with others.
• Must be dependable, a self-starter, and able to identify and perform daily operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient safe operation of heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, trucks).
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and complete documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (lubricating, fueling, cleaning).
• Operate equipment for site prep, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and minimal downtime; maintain safety around surroundings.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Handle waste on equipment and perform on-site roll off work as needed.
• Move and stage trailers with yard tractor; travel between sites as required.
