Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of heavy machinery and support site development tasks. The role requires vigilance in inspections, routine maintenance, and careful handling of waste materials while complying with all safety standards.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of field experience operating heavy equipment, strong English communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavator, backhoe, dozer, or off-road truck
• Must pass written and operational tests to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment
• Hazardous waste management training within six months of employment or assignment

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, trucks) per regulations and policies
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings
• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, fueling, cleaning) and ensure proper operation
• Move and stage materials on site and support earth moving, landscaping, and site development tasks
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers and maintain safety at all times
