Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy machinery and support landfill and site development projects in the Waverly, OH area. You will perform pre-trip inspections, conduct routine maintenance, and work with a team to move waste and materials on site.

The role requires at least 3 years of heavy equipment experience, the ability to pass certification tests, and completion of hazardous waste training within six months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, dozer, or off-road truck.
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment.
• Specific to Boyd - hazardous waste management training must be completed within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely including bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders and trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.
• Move waste and materials on site and assist with earth moving, site prep and related tasks.
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
