Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a seasoned project leadership professional to oversee construction projects up to $15 million. You will drive forecasting, budgeting, and bidding efforts, coordinating with estimators and project controls to ensure profitability and schedule adherence.

In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams of Project Engineers and Superintendents, manage resources, and maintain rigorous safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
• Three to five years progressive infrastructure project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum of five years experience in highways, bridges, roads, paving, earthwork, and grading.
• Knowledge of construction paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Knowledge of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budget.
• Lead estimating efforts on vertical integrated projects for bid-to-build process.
• Coordinate with estimators, large project sponsor, and construction manager to manage resources and meet schedule.
• Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure bid accuracy; work with estimating team to develop bid schedule.
• Develop comprehensive startup plan with project sponsor, construction manager and team.
• Ensure effective project communication among Project Engineers, Foremen, Superintendents and Construction Manager to achieve efficient, profitable, and safe execution.
• Maintain accurate job controls for quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
• Establish and maintain relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and clients to foster long-term partnerships.
• Prepare construction reports to support continuous performance improvements and profitability.
• Drive projects to meet or exceed target margins while complying with safety initiatives.
