Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a seasoned project executive to oversee complex heavy civil projects with revenue in the $50–$100 million range and durations up to three years. This role directs overall project outcomes, profitability, and safety across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate has a track record managing large field crews, coordinating estimators and controls, and delivering bid-to-build processes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
• Minimum of ten years progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum of five years experience in paving, dirt, and grading in either private or public environments.
• Experience as a Large Projects Superintendent preferred.
• Experience in Design-build projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
• Direct a staff of up to 10, including hiring and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to set budgets.
• Lead bid and estimating efforts for bid-to-build process.
• Coordinate with large project sponsor, manager of construction and project team to develop comprehensive plan for project start up and successful kick-off.
• Provide environment for effective communication among Project Engineers, Foremen, Superintendents and Construction Manager.
• Ensure proper job controls, i.e., quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
