Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Senior Project Manager to direct large-scale construction projects from planning through execution in the United States. The role emphasizes cost control, schedule adherence, and strong leadership across cross-functional teams on multi-million-dollar ventures.

You will coordinate with estimators, procurement, and field leaders to ensure a profitable outcome while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
• Five to ten years progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum of five years experience in paving, dirt, and grading in either private or public environments.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and controls to establish budgets.
• Lead estimating efforts on vertical projects for accurate bid-to-build.
• Coordinate resources to meet project schedules and kick-offs.
• Contribute to bid reviews and feasibility assessments with the estimating team.
• Develop plans for project startup and successful kickoff with the team.
• Foster effective communication among project engineers, foremen, superintendents, and the construction manager to ensure efficiency, profitability, and safety.
• Maintain accurate job controls for quantities, costs, revenue, and schedule.
• Build relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and inspectors to support long-term partnerships.
• Ensure accurate construction reports for continuous performance improvement.
• Drive profitability to meet or exceed margins and align with safety initiatives.
