Intermountain Healthcare is seeking an Enhanced Scheduler for the Heart & Vascular program in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This role focuses on registering and scheduling patients across facilities with a single call to streamline service.

The position involves pre-certification, insurance verification, demographic collection, and coordinating pre-operative steps while serving as a liaison among physicians, patients, and care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and related healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent patient-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and navigate EMR and scheduling systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the surgery schedule and provides information to patients and physicians.
• Coordinates, registers and schedules appointments according to availability.
• Performs pre-certification for insurance approval and schedules required tests.
• Ensures pre-operative requirements and equipment are arranged prior to procedures.
• Communicates preparation instructions and arrival/departure details to patients.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and handles date-change/cancellation issues.
• Greets patients, answers calls, and documents interactions in EMR.
• Verifies insurance, coordinates benefits, and obtains referrals as needed.
• Posts payments, reconciles receipts, and maintains accurate patient records.
