Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years in healthcare.
• Experience in patient scheduling, registration, and insurance coordination preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and accurate data entry are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the surgery schedule and provides information to patients and physicians.
• Coordinates, registers, and schedules appointments per availability.
• Pre-certifies insurance for appointments and care.
• Ensures pre-operative tests are scheduled and completed.
• Coordinates equipment, room availability, and pre-surgery medications.
• Answers patient questions about surgery preparation and arrival instructions.
• Schedules follow-up appointments as directed by physicians.
• Screens calls about date changes or cancellations and escalates issues as needed.
• Greets patients, handles calls, takes messages, and documents in the EMR.
• Registers patients and updates demographic data in registration system.
• Verifies insurance to determine coordination of benefits and referrals as needed.
• Collects payments, posts receipts, and balances accounts; notes interactions in patient records.
• Maintains queues and generates required reports.
