Job summary

Essential HealthCare Solution is seeking a part-time Patient Appointment Clerk to support scheduling and patient data updates in Tacoma, WA. The role involves verifying eligibility, updating demographics, and handling scheduling requests for primary and specialty care.

On-site, 20 hours weekly, Mon-Thu 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. The position requires strong communication and computer skills (Word/Excel/Access) with an emphasis on accurate data entry and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Skilled in Word, Excel, Access, and other software programs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Able to define problems and obtain solutions.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance to access the work site.
• Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers and clinic staff.
• Healthcare administrative experience - preferred.
• Health Plan experience - preferred.
• Provider Relations or Member Service experience - preferred.
• Call Center- preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Verify beneficiary eligibility and update demographic information.
• Schedule primary or specialty care appointments and handle cancellations/rescheduling.
• Complete outbound calls to facilitate timely scheduling of specialty appointments.
• Coordinate scheduling of preventative health appointments and surgery reminders.
• Support scheduling and coordinating appointments to ensure efficient patient flow.
