Job summary

Essential HealthCare Solution is seeking a Part-Time Patient Appointment Clerk to support our military families by coordinating and scheduling appointments, verifying eligibility, and handling related administrative tasks. The role is on-site in Tacoma, WA, 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, with hourly pay of $22.98 (optional $5.09/hour in lieu of benefits).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Skilled in Word, Excel, Access, and other software programs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Able to define problems and obtain solutions.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance to access the work site.
• Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers and clinic staff.
• Healthcare administrative experience - preferred.
• Health Plan experience - preferred.
• Provider Relations or Member Service experience - preferred.
• Call Center- preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Verify beneficiary eligibility through an electronic system and update demographic information.
• Schedule requests for primary or specialty care appointments and cancellations/rescheduling.
• Complete outbound calls to facilitate timely scheduling of specialty and preventative health appointments.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and reminder calls for surgeries or referrals.
