Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator to join the CDH Surgical Care Center team. The role supports unit-based reception, clerical duties, and patient registration while coordinating with the Manager and Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities include answering calls, guiding patients, recording admissions, and ensuring accurate chart handling. 0.8 FTE, 3p-11:30pm with rotating weekends; strong communication and customer service required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing.
• Ability to assess and determine situations requiring an interpreter and to use interpreter services effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills.
