Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for a full-time, 3pm-11:30pm shift with rotating weekends in the CDH Medical Care Center. The role supports unit operations, patient registration, medical records, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth patient flow and service excellence.

You will interact with patients, families and staff, handling inquiries, directing visitors, and contributing to a positive care experience while adhering to ethics

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent customer service and clear English communication are essential.
• Basic computer literacy is expected for registration and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Presents a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Performs unit-based reception, clerical, medical record and patient registration functions.
• Maintains efficient unit workflow in collaboration with the Manager and Charge Nurse.
• Registers patients in the computer and ensures accurate census and documentation.
• Coordinates with departments to provide interdisciplinary patient care and information.
