Mayo Clinic in Menomonie, WI seeks a Health Unit Coordinator to provide organizational, receptionist and clerical support to patient care units. You will monitor supplies, answer call lights promptly, assist with EHR orders, and communicate with patients, visitors and staff, while supporting the care team.

This role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills and flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills.
• HUC post-secondary program or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge of EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintains certifications/licensure per work unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.
• Monitors and orders supplies, promptly answering patient call lights and elevating patient needs to nursing staff.
• Assists the care team with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff and supports continuum of care.
• Supports the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to team requests and patient needs.
