Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units. You will monitor supplies, answer call lights promptly, and assist the care team with managing orders in the EHR.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. A post-secondary HUC program or certification is preferred, as is experience in a medical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HUC post-secondary program or certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency with computer skills; EPIC/EHR experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team.
• Monitor and order supplies, promptly answer patient call lights, and assist with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff; support continuity of care.
• Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
