Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Boyd, Wisconsin is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units. This role ensures smooth operations by monitoring supplies, answering patient call lights, and relaying needs to nursing staff.

You will assist the care team with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR) and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff, acting as a key resource across the care continuum.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHRs and Windows-based systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team.
• Monitor and order supplies, answer patient call lights, and elevate patient needs to nursing staff.
• Assist the care team with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff, acting as a resource across the continuum of care.
• Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and a willingness to participate in continuous improvement.
