Job summary

Cengage, a global education technology company, seeks a Director of Web Experience Design to shape the vision and strategy for our web ecosystem, connecting customers with our products and learning experiences.

Lead a design team, drive experimentation, use data to prioritize opportunities, and advance ecommerce and conversion across the customer journey, while mentoring future design leaders and staying ahead of AI-enabled and accessible design practices.

Qualifications

• Senior Web Experience Design role with 3+ years of people management.
• Experience with ecommerce, growth, conversion optimization, or other transactional digital experiences.
• Deep UX and UI design expertise, accessibility, responsive design, and modern digital processes.
• Portfolio required to be considered for this position.
• Strong collaboration and communication with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience; establish a clear UX/UI strategy for websites.
• Make experimentation central to design; prototype ideas and run A/B tests with cross-functional partners.
• Advance ecommerce and conversion experiences to improve outcomes.
• Design across the full customer journey from acquisition to engagement.
• Use data to identify and prioritize opportunities using analytics and funnel metrics.
• Build a culture of continuous optimization with iterative improvements.
• Stay ahead of evolving web design practices including AI-enabled experiences and accessibility.
• Develop outstanding talent by coaching designers and building future design leaders.
