The role emphasizes data-informed decision making, experimentation, and ongoing optimization across discovery, purchase, and post-purchase experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people management leading design teams.
• Experience with ecommerce and conversion optimization.
• Deep expertise in UX and UI design, accessibility, and modern digital design processes.
• Portfolio required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience and establish UX/UI strategy.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to develop hypotheses, prototype ideas, and run A/B tests.
• Advance ecommerce and conversion experiences to improve performance.
• Design across the full customer journey from acquisition to engagement.
• Use data to identify opportunities, prioritize improvements, and measure impact.
• Build a culture of continuous optimization and experimentation.
• Stay ahead of evolving web design practices including AI-enabled experiences.
• Develop outstanding talent by coaching designers and shaping future leaders.
