Cengage Group is seeking a Director of Web Experience Design to shape the vision and strategy for our web ecosystem, guiding a design team to deliver compelling experiences that connect customers with our products.

You will lead cross-functional partners, drive experimentation, improve ecommerce and conversion, and develop design leaders while staying ahead of evolving practices such as AI-enabled personalization and accessible design.

Qualifications

Senior Web Experience Design role with 3+ years of people management experience.
Strong experience with ecommerce, growth, conversion optimization, or other transactional digital experiences.
Deep expertise in UX and UI design, information architecture, accessibility, responsive design, and modern digital design processes.
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams.
A portfolio is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience, establishing a clear UX/UI strategy for discovery, evaluation, purchase and engagement.
Make experimentation central to design by partnering with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to develop hypotheses and run tests.
Advance ecommerce and conversion experiences with continuous optimization across key moments.
Design across the full customer journey from acquisition to engagement.
Use data to identify opportunities by combining qualitative research with analytics and metrics.
Build a culture of continuous optimization and iterative improvements.
Stay ahead of evolving web and design practices including AI-enabled experiences and accessibility.
Develop outstanding talent by coaching designers and building leaders.
