Job summary

Cengage Group seeks a Director of Web Experience Design to shape vision and strategy for our web ecosystem, guiding how customers discover, evaluate, purchase, and engage with our products.

You will lead and mentor a design team, partner across product, marketing, analytics, and engineering, and drive continuous optimization, experimentation, and AI-enabled experiences to improve conversion and deliver business value.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people management experience leading design teams.
• Experience with ecommerce, growth, conversion optimization, or transactional digital experiences.
• Expertise in UX and UI design, accessibility, information architecture, responsive design.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and connect design decisions to outcomes.
• Portfolio is required.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience and UX/UI strategy.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing design team.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering on experiments.
• Advance ecommerce and conversion experiences.
• Design across the full customer journey.
• Use data to identify opportunities and prioritize improvements.
• Foster a culture of continuous optimization and learning.
• Stay ahead of AI-enabled experiences and new design tech.
• Develop design talent and leadership within the team.
