Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Head of Operations (Logistics) in the Newark, NJ area to oversee daily freight forwarding and supply chain activities, guiding an expanding operations team across import and export shipments by air, ocean, and ground.

You will manage warehouse and operations, drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with customs and trade requirements, and partner with carriers, brokers, and customers to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within freight forwarding, international logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs regulations, and global transportation networks.
• Experience managing teams, coordinating workflows, and driving operational performance.
• Ability to work onsite in the Newark, NJ area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily import, export, customs, and freight forwarding activities across all transportation modes.
• Manage operational workflows, shipment visibility, and issue resolution to ensure efficient execution.
• Collaborate with carriers, customs brokers, vendors, and customers to support seamless transportation processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and company procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and team performance.
• Support employee training, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement best practices to drive operational success.
• Partner with leadership to support business growth and scaling of operations.
• Manage the Warehouse Supervisor & warehouse employees
