Job summary

Qualifications

• Significant experience within freight forwarding, international logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs regulations, and global transportation networks.
• Experience managing teams, coordinating workflows, and driving operational performance.
• Ability to work onsite in the Newark, NJ area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily import, export, customs, and freight forwarding activities across all transportation modes.

Job Title: Head of Operations (Logistics)

Location: Newark, NJ Area

A growing freight forwarding client of mine is seeking an experienced Logistics & Operations lead to oversee daily operations across international freight forwarding and supply chain activities. This role will be responsible for leading and developing a growing operations team while ensuring the efficient movement of import and export shipments across multiple modes of transportation, including air, ocean, and ground freight. This position will oversee both the Operations & Warehouse for the site in the Newark, NJ area.

The Logistics Operations Manager will manage workflow, drive operational excellence, and provide guidance, training, and support to team members. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of international logistics, customs processes, regulatory compliance, and freight forwarding operations, with the ability to solve complex transportation challenges and maintain high service levels for customers.
