Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team, supporting the Energy-from-Waste process across 30+ facilities in North America, with responsibility for high-, medium-, and low-voltage systems. You will supervise SMEs, drive capital projects, feasibility studies, and design standards while collaborating with cross-functional leaders.

The role requires 15–20 years in electrical engineering and at least 5 years in leadership; PE license

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science (Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution.
• 15–20 years of experience in an electrical engineering role with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Experience with MV and HV systems and large industrial facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States is highly desired.
• Six Sigma Green Belt is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: lead electrical infrastructure design for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: lead technical programs of strategic importance to the company.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Reworld’s Electrical specifications/design standards library.
• Provide engineering support to operations, including evaluation and implementation of technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: engage and manage outside engineers to deliver sound electrical designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): lead front-end design activities for capital projects in alignment with FEL processes.
• Coaching and Mentoring: mentor, coach, and develop SMEs.
• Feasibility Studies: lead feasibility studies for new or retrofit designs, evaluating total cost of ownership.
